How to setup iPhone IOS Email Account

To setup email on your iPhone, please follow the following instructions:

tap settings
tap mail contact calendars
tap add account
tap OTHER
tap POP or IMAP

name = your name
address = your email address
description = you can leave this blank

Incoming Mail Server

host name = mail.[yourdomain]
User name = [your email address]
Password = [your password] you created in cPanel

Outgoing Mail Server 

host name = mail.[yourdomain]
username = [your email address]
password = [your password] you created in cPanel

After saving the account:
tap settings
tap mail contact calendars
tap [yourdomain] account
tap account name
scroll down to outgoing mail server
tap SMTP server name (above advanced)
look for an SMTP server name of: mail.[yourdomain] and tap it

SMTP server settings appear; make sure these settings are in use:

Non-SSL Settings
(NOT Recommended)
Username: [your email address]
Password: [your password] you created in cPanel
Incoming Server: mail.[yourdomain]
IMAP Port: 143
POP3 Port: 110
Outgoing Server: mail.[yourdomain]
SMTP Port: 26
Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.Via password

Secure SSL/TLS Settings
(Recommended)
Username: [your email address]
Password: [your password] you created in cPanel
Incoming Server: mail.[yourdomain]
IMAP Port: 993
POP3 Port: 995
Outgoing Server: mail.[yourdomain]
SMTP Port: 465 or 587
Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP. Via password

Error Tips

1. If these settings do not work, take a look at any error message to see if it talks about Password issues and make sure your server name, user name (your complete email address), and password are typed in correctly.
2. When iPhone Mail connects to your server, it by default attempts to connect using a SSL connection. On shared servers,(which you are) the SSL certificate will look similar to xxx.qclickhostingaustralia.com.au.com iPhone mail is throwing an error because it is not seeing a SSL certificate for "mail.yourdomain.com", and instead it is seeing the xxx.qclickhostingaustralia.com.au certificate. This is common, and it is safe to ignore. Click "Connect" to ignore this message and continue. To verify it is an xxx.qclickhostingaustralia.com.au certificate, click "Show Certificate", and you should see it listed.

What is the IMAP Path Prefix?

The correct code is INBOX (all caps).

Setting up IMAP Mailbox Behaviours

At this stage is important because otherwise your Sent, Drafts and Trash will be stored locally on your iPhone, and you won’t be able to see them when accessing your mailbox from another computer or webmail.

Connect to correct IMAP folder

You will see that currently there is a little blue tick next to the Sent folder ON MY IPHONE. This causes no end of support calls! Just tap the Sent folder under ON THE SERVER.

After which you will be returned to the Advanced screen – repeat this process for the Drafts and Deleted folders, connecting them to the server’s Drafts and Trash folders respectively.

Dont Forget !!

Once you are back to the Advanced screen, don’t forget to tap Account (top left) to return to the Account screen, and then tap Done (top right) otherwise your advanced settings won’t be saved.

I Cannot Delete Emails

By default, iOS attempts to delete IMAP email by putting it in the phones trash. This causes an error to come up saying that the messages could not be moved to the trash folder.

To fix this:

Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendars > {your email account} >Advanced.
Select Deleted Mailbox.
In the On Server section, select the Trash box under the server. This will allow you to remove email from an iPhone or iPod.

Too Many Connections - 500 Errors?

On the iPhone there is a function called "push," and when it is enabled it keeps the connection to our server open and continually checks mail. Consequently, this creates many IMAP processes and eventually conflicts with our Terms of Service.

To avoid running excessive IMAP processes, you can disable push when you don't need it.

Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data.
Toggle Push to Off.
Now, instead of retrieving emails continuously as they arrive, your iPhone will use the global Fetch setting to retrieve emails manually or at intervals.
