How to Setup Android OS Email account

This article will show you how to setup email on a device running the Android OS.


CREATE A NEW EMAIL ACCOUNT

  1. Enter your full "Email Address"
  2. Enter the password for your "Email Address"
  3. Tap "Next"
  4. Choose the type of email account you will be using.
  5. POP3: POP3 will download the emails from the server and store them on your phone.
  6. IMAP: IMAP will store the emails on the server and show a cached copy on your phone.
  7. Exchange: Exchange is not supported as it requires a Microsoft Exchange server

IMAP Port: 993
POP3 Port: 995
Outgoing Server: clo.qclickhostingaustralia.com.au | Check with Kanga Hosting Support you might be on server mel.qclickhostingaustralia.com.au
SMTP Port: 465
Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP. Via password
Advanced Settings: IMAP Prefix path = INBOX

Non-SSL/TLS Settings (NOT Recommended)
Incoming Server: clo.qclickhostingaustralia.com.au | Check with Kanga Hosting Support you might be on server mel.qclickhostingaustralia.com.au
IMAP Port: 143
POP3 Port: 110
Outgoing Server: clo.qclickhostingaustralia.com.au | Check with Kanga Hosting Support you might be on server mel.qclickhostingaustralia.com.au
SMTP Port: 26
Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP
Advanced Settings: IMAP Prefix path = INBOX

ACCOUNT OPTIONS

  1. Email Checking Frequency: Set how often you would like your device to check for new emails.
  2. Note: The more often you check your email the more drain it will cause on your battery.
  3. Send email from this account by default Check this option if this will be your default email address
  4. Notify me when email arrives: Leave this checked if you would like to be notified of new email messages.
  5. Tap Next.

NAME THE ACCOUNT

  1. If you would like you can name the email account, this can be helpful if you have multiple accounts on the one device.
  2. Enter the name you would like to be shown on all outgoing emails that you send from the device.
  3. Tap Done.
