Setup Email Tutorials

How to setup your new hosted email addresses at Kanga Hosting Australia.

1. SPAM : Kanga Hosting Australia's SPAM filter marks all SPAM in the subject field as ***SPAM***. Some email programs like Outlook Express do not automatically put incoming mail marked ***SPAM*** into your local SPAM bin, you need to know how to configure this on your local mail program, be sure to download the document in our Downloads section called Email Rules Outlook Express .

2. WEBMAIL : You can also find video tutorials on how to use the your remote WebMail - SquirrelMail option, meaning : how to check your email from any desktop in the world via Web Mail.

3. IMPORTANT : If you are with another ISP like Bigpond, meaning you access the internet through a Bigpond network, modem or router, YOU MUST change some settings in your mail program advanced settings for your Kanga Hosting Australia hosted emails addresses. The default port for SMTP send is port 25, you must change this to port 26 as ISP's like Bigpond block other email addresses sending through this port.

Go to your local email program  Tools>>Account Settings normally

Double click on your Kanga Hosting hosted mail account in the window.

1. Username must be in the form of user@domain.com (ie complete email address)
2. Password is what was setup in cPanel when mail box was created "double check"
3. Incoming and Outgoing mailserver: [mail.yourdomain.com]
4. Click on : More Settings | Outgoing Server | make sure the box "My Server Requires  Authentication" is checked.
5. Click on Advanced : Outgoing mail server (SMTP) should be port 26 not 25

Save all and exit | Send and receive to check new settings

4. LAPTOPS : We highly recommend all Laptops to use port 26 on your email program, so when you wander from wireless network to wireless network, you will not get caught out by our firewall if you happen to connect to the internet via another network.
